Video walls have proven to be an effective and visually captivating form of advertising for numerous businesses, from major corporations to locally owned stores. Have you given this advertising media a chance in your business? Many find that it can increase the productivity of their advertising campaigns. Still, some things must be kept in mind if the full potential of your wall is to be met. A very important factor involved can be summed up in one word: placement.

Why is placement of a video walls so important? In short, if people cannot see it quickly and clearly it will not have as much of an impact as it could have. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when deciding where to setup your wall:

1. A wall should be the first thing customers see: If your customers aren’t pulled into your business by your advertising, then it is not doing its job. Make sure that your wall is easily seen either when customers first enter your business or even from outside. To do this, setup panels in plain view from entryways. You may also decide to put a display in the window of your store front so that people passing by can view it.

2. Make sure nothing impedes the view: Try pretending that you are a customer coming into your business for the first time. Is the wall easily viewable or are other objects blocking the view? Is there adequate lighting? Is there too much lighting? You may not think of it, but if too much light (such as direct sunlight) is shining on your display panels, people may have a difficult time seeing what is on the screens. Check to see if anything is impeding the ability to clearly view the wall and make any needed adjustments.

3. Place it at the proper height: The proper height for a video wall display depends on the purpose it is serving. If your display is acting as a billboard or sign for your business the height will more than likely be higher than a wall used in-store. On the other hand, an in-store display needs to be closer to eye level if it is going to be effective. If placed too high, a display can be out of view or uncomfortable to view due to neck strain.

These are just three things to keep in mind when setting up your video wall. As time goes by you will no doubt discover other important factors that will help you determine display placement. You will learn as you go so to speak. But if you begin by implementing these three simple suggestions I’m sure you will see the benefits of using a video wall in your business.
